MY STORY:

Hi welcome to my site, I have made to page from my love of shark angling. I am a boat angler from Dublin/ Ireland. I own my own boat called OUT OF BOUNDS she's a Redbay Fastfisher 166.last season I was quite happily fishing for mackerel/Pollack etc around the inshore waters around Dalkey island, until my brother who is a experience angler asked me if I wanted to try tope fishing in Greystones Co Wicklow. we set out about mid tide[ to fish the rise and fall] to a sand bank about 1 mile out. we lost 3 good fish that bit through 150lb mono,we had no wire traces with us so we wrapped copper wire around the end of the trace and soon enough we had caught a nice 20+lb tope. at the same time we had a set of feathers out and decided to use a live bait. within two mins of the live bait being out we go a run from another tope, my brother waited for the right time to stop the run and when he did he screamed get the lines in this is a decent one, which I did with some panick,i passed him the but pad and he fought the fish to the surface it had a pinkish colour from it and it looked at us before closing its eye and diving again, my brother passed me the rod and said ok its your turn........it felt like you were hooked onto the back of a moped and trying to reel it in, the power of these beautiful fish is truly amazing. that was it I was hooked for life and cant wait for the 2001 season to start

 MY AIMS AND GOALS:

My aims and goals for this year [2001] is to target tope as my main species with the occasional trip south for some blue shark fishing. I also hope to tag and release as many sharks as possible as I am a firm believer in catch and release. over the last few I have read and learned a lot about tope and would like to thank davy holt from Scotland  for his help and direction and peter green from central fisheries board in Ireland. did you know davy holt recapture a tope last season that had been tagged and released in donegal bay 18 years earlier, amazing or what???

WHAT DO YOU GET?

I will give you all the information I can, from rigs and equiptment to use areas to fish, how to make rubby dubby the all important bit and i will include pictures ect..

thanks for taking the time to read this and tight lines.         Yours   terry.
